Commercial trucking coverage

Your truck is the business. Insure the truck.

Physical damage pays to repair or replace your own tractor and trailer after a collision, theft, fire, vandalism or weather. Lenders require it on financed equipment; owners of paid-off trucks carry it because a totaled rig with no coverage ends the operation.

What it covers

Physical Damage Insurance, in plain terms.

  • Collision: damage from an accident, whoever is at fault
  • Comprehensive: theft, fire, hail, flood, falling objects, vandalism
  • Tractors, trailers, and permanently attached equipment, valued at stated amount or actual cash value
  • Deductible options sized to your cash flow

Who needs it

Anyone with a financed truck, and any owner who could not replace a rig out of pocket.

Questions

What is the difference between stated amount and actual cash value?

Stated amount is the value you and the carrier agree on when the policy is written. Actual cash value is the market value at the time of the loss, less depreciation. We explain the trade-off before you choose.

Does physical damage cover a trailer I do not own?

Not by default. Non-owned trailer coverage can be added for trailers you pull under a lease or interchange agreement.
